The Laine Pub Company is a Brighton-based multiple pub operator with a growing presence in London. The company manages over 45 city pubs, all individually designed to reflect the heritage and culture of the area in which they are located.

Risk Capital Partners invested in Laine’s in 2014 alongside Graphite Enterprise, the listed private equity investment trust managed by Graphite Capital, and Laine’s existing management team.

Why we invested:

• Established profitable estate of pubs in the affluent south east
• Proven management team incentivised to grow the estate
• Site pipeline of pubs to acquire in London suburbs

Outcome

We sold our investment in the Laine Pub Company for 2.0x cost in an exit to Punch Taverns in May 2018
