Ego Restaurants is a Midlands and North West based Mediterranean restaurant business led by James Horler that delivers freshly prepared Mediterranean food in a modern ambience.

The business acquired Rocket Restaurants in 2011 and today operates the two brands with sixteen restaurants throughout the UK.

Two years ago, Ego opened their first ‘Ego in a Pub’ restaurant which has been very successful. There are now four of these set ups trading and the Group is looking at further opportunities to expand the model throughout the Midlands and North over the next two years.

Luke and James met through their shared passion for the restaurant industry. James is a well-known industry leader, having developed Frankie & Benny’s in the 1990’s. He also led the MBO of La Tasca in 2001, a subsequent IPO in 2005 and finally the sale in 2007 delivering a money multiple of 6x.
